']]}A black leopard, also known as ‘black panther’, is actually a melano form of the leopard. It still has leopard spots—they’re just not easy to spot. While ‘black leopard’ refers to a specific cat, ‘black panther’ can be any black big cat, depending on country (jaguars in South America, leopards in Africa and Asia, cheetahs and, while very rare, possibly even tigers and pumas).
